BREEDING

  • Canadian producers utilize a selection of Bos taurus breeds of cattle, perfectly suited to thrive in cooler climates.
  • Bos taurus breeds consistently produce well-marbled, high yield and flavourful beef in high demand at the world’s table.
  • Major breeds used in Canada include Angus, Simmental, Charolais and Hereford cross.
  • Over 2/3 of Canada’s herd is based on Angus and Hereford breeds.

FEEDING
