Mum shamed for feeding

A mum was 'shamed' online for serving her five-year-old daughter chicken nuggets, waffle fries, sliced strawberries and bananas, say reports.

The woman, from the US, posted an image via social media which showed a blue plate and fork containing the assortment of food.

On a Facebook group she wrote: "Dinner for my five-year-old - chicken nuggets, waffle fries, strawberries and bananas."

But the post was met with a split reaction with some nasty remarks from online commenters who criticised her for the 'unhealthy' choice of food.

Others, meanwhile, leapt to her defence and said they didn't see anything wrong with the offering.

Mum shamed for feeding

Reaction varied widely on the social media post.

One person wrote: "Are people actually complaining about a mum feeding her baby? You guys realise there's people out there who starve their kids? Good for you mama. I'd literally eat this dinner too. Looks good to me."

Another said: "Some of you act like you've never had a chicken nugget in your life before" while one person added: "It's a chicken nugget. Some of you are acting like she fed her kid a cigar for dinner."

Many parents also admitted they struggle with feeding their fussy children.

One said: "It amazes me that there are kids out there that will eat whatever is put in front of them. My kid? Nope... As long as the kid is eating and healthy, what's the problem? It's not your kid anyway."

And another said: "My son is eating Doritos for breakfast right this moment. I could sit here and explain why, but you know what? It doesn't matter and is frankly none of anyone's business. We have got to stop judging other parents. It's ridiculous."
