McDonald's Monopoly is back - and you can get your hands on a VIP gold card

After a long and said two-year hiatus, McDonald's Monopoly is finally coming back to UK restaurant, and this time it has a VIP twist.

Fans of the fast-food chain will know the infamous competition was cancelled last year, due to the ongoing pandemic, but it seems like McDonald's is making up for lost time, with a whole host of incredible prizes.

McDonald's Monopoly will be available in all UK restaurants from August 25, and there's millions of prizes to be won.

Just like in previous years, players get the chance to bag tonnes of instant wins, or claim bigger prizes through collecting infamous London road names like Mayfair and Fleet Street.

But, this year, 1000 lucky McDonald's customers will become instant VIPs when they receive one of the first ever UK McDonald’s VIP Gold Card.

Not only will it give them the ultimate bragging rights, it will also entitle them to a free medium Maccies meal from their local restaurant every week for an entire year. It really doesn't get much better than that!

This year's Monopoly was originally due to take place in July, but was delayed mid-production, after more than 200 million game pieces had already been printed and dated. Instead of wasting these products, the fast-food giant has made the decision to repurpose the outdated game pieces when the competition launches next month.

So, customers are being urged to head to the McDonald's website to check the dates of their prizes to make sure they don't miss out.
