Man left hungry after delivery driver

A man claims he was left hungry after his food delivery driver allegedly ate his meal then left him a nasty note after he didn’t leave a tip.

Mykul Myas said decided to order in some Mexican food so he could enjoy his cravings in the comfort of his own home.

The 31-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, USA, said he waited 45 minutes for his £12.50 burrito bowl, but after going to eat his meal, he was shocked at what he found.

Mykul claims his dinner had been completely polished off by the driver, who also left a nasty note stating that he had eaten his food because he did not receive a tip.

The carpenter said: “I had a craving for Mexican food and I didn’t really want to go out and get it.

“I decided to get it delivered. I ordered a burrito bowl and waited about 45 minutes.

“I then got a notification saying it was at my door, so I went to check and the bag had just been left there.

“I didn’t actually see the person. I was planning to give him a tip in cash, but he drove away before I’d even had a chance.

“I couldn’t believe it when I opened the box up to eat my food, and it was all gone. I was in total disbelief, and then to see that note there, it felt really personal.

"I honestly thought it was someone pulling my leg. I was disappointed, as I was really looking forward to the meal.

"I ended up just having some ramen noodles after that.”

The anonymous note was left in the eaten bowl and read: “Leave a tip next time and this might not happen.

“And don’t bother tryna [sic] get me fired. Going back to Amazon.”

Shocked Mykul said he could not believe what had happened, adding that he had put some cash aside to give the driver a tip, but they had driven away before he got a chance.

Mykul says he has also received an influx of cruel hate comments from strangers around the world after posting the photograph to Facebook, where it has since gone viral.

He said: “I’m guessing the driver was just angry about me not leaving a tip in the app, so they decided to eat my food and leave that note.

“After reading people’s comments, they were telling me that most delivery drivers make their money off tips. But I had no idea.

“I was getting a lot of hate comments about not leaving a tip through the app. But if I had seen the person, I would have given them a cash tip, that was my plan.

“People were telling me I got what I deserved and that I’m disgusting. Random strangers have been flooding my inbox with angry messages.

“Half the people were laughing that it happened, and the other half were angry.”
